Aaron Hoskins

Worship Pastor

WHAT PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT?
New Zealand. Hills. Mountains. Scenery. And hobbit holes. It's a Tolkien lover's dream. And I love me some Tolkien.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON?
Autumn. Finally a break from the Texas heat! Oh, and there's the changing of the leaves and all things pumpkin.

WHAT IS ON YOUR PLAYLIST RIGHT NOW?
We the Kingdom- Live at the Wheelhouse
Leeland - Better Word
Dirty Loops - Loopified

WHAT'S ONE OF YOUR PROUDEST MOMENTS?
When the church released their first EP with songs that I wrote for it. I never once saw myself as a songwriter, let alone one that's good enough to have songs cut on an album. But that changed dramatically when the church not only sang my songs, but sang them with enthusiasm. That is a wonderful feeling.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
God's faithfulness.  More specifically, when He's demonstrates His faithfulness to me in real ways.  It's easy to hear or read stories about God's faithfulness to other people to which I say "yes and amen" but when it comes to my life, I've questioned many times if His promises are for me.  And He kindly answers that question time and time again.  His promises are for me too.  And when He reminds me of this truth, or does something really specific in my life, you could easily say that I'm inspired.

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT HULEN STREET?
I am privileged to lead the church body in corporate worship at Hulen Street Church. My role as a pastor is to stir the hearts of believers to offer their own personal worship to God through various experiences involving the arts and media. It is my desire that Sunday morning worship and other events like it serve to act as a culmination of the personal worship that has been happening all week, not just a one-time thing. I want the church to see corporate worship as a highly participatory act, not one that they are content to sit back and watch.

Aaron has served with Hulen Street Church since 2012.
